It seems as though Melania Trump has walked away the victor in her beef with Daily Mail. Is anyone shocked? Nope.

In case you forgot, FLOTUS slapped several media outlets with lawsuits for citing a story that claimed her former modeling agency doubled as a high-end escort service. Obviously, Mrs. Trump did not appreciate the implications which coincided with this report as she specifically went after Maryland blogger Webster Griffin Tarpley and DM in a $150 million defamation lawsuit.

And, after the First Lady was granted permission by a judge to move forward with the libel case, we knew it was only a matter of time before the British newspaper settled. As part of their settlement, Daily Mail has since offered up the following apology:

"The Daily Mail newspaper and the Mail Online/DailyMail.com website published an article on 20 August 2016 about Melania Trump which questioned the nature of her work as a professional model, and republished allegations that she provided services beyond simply modeling. The article included statements that Mrs. Trump denied the allegations and Paulo Zampolli, who ran the modeling agency, also denied the allegations, and the article also stated that there was no evidence to support the allegations. The article also claimed that Mr. and Mrs. Trump may have met three years before they actually met, and ‘staged’ their actual meeting as a ‘ruse.’
We accept that these allegations about Mrs. Trump are not true and we retract and withdraw them. We apologize to Mrs. Trump for any distress that our publication caused her. To settle Mrs. Trump’s two lawsuits against us, we have agreed to pay her damages and costs."

Although Donald Trump‘s wife didn’t snag the $150 million she was hoping for, she will reportedly be getting $2.9 million from the publication. Ummm, she better donate that money to charity.

The president has yet to comment on his wife’s legal win, but we’re sure he’ll pen something obnoxious about "fake news" on Twitter later today. Stay tuned!
